We are currently seeking a Risk & Controls Analyst to join our team within our Credit Department.

The Risk & Controls Analyst protects their appointed business area from significant operational and regulatory risks. This role monitors, reports on and ensures compliance with the operational risk management (ORM) and regulatory compliance programs within their respective business area, utilizing FW risk management frameworks, tools and templates. The Analyst will work closely with Risk.

Here’s what would be included as a part of your typical day

Process Control Development: Identifies, builds and documents processes within respective business unit, develops action plans if needed and ensures they are managed in accordance with risk management policies. Builds internal control framework. Ensures processes are appropriately mapped and documented for key activities. Ensures required controls for all dependent processes in their respective business unit are functioning and monitored effectively, and escalates, and redresses performance outside established risk tolerances in a timely manner. Establishes RACI tables for department.
Risk Assessments and Mitigation: Works closely with respective business leaders to facilitate risk and control self-assessments (RCSA), periodically, develops key risk assessment reports, and presents findings and recommendations. RCSA’s may include new or revised PGPPs, key activities and processes, projects or initiatives, third parties, fraud and/or product and services. Ensures all teams refresh and test business impact analysis and business continuity planning at least annually, and team mandates are up to date.
Risk Mitigation: Ensures findings and observations from internal and external audits, RCSAs and control validation reviews are addressed in a timely manner. Develops or updates controls to address risks that are not adequately mitigated. Establishes monitoring program for key controls. Establishes reporting on operational risk assessments to FWLT leader of the department.
Risk Training: Provides risk management training to all teams within the department. Acts as the primary contact for operational risk within their respective business unit.
Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business administration required; working towards a financial, accounting or risk management designation preferred
3 years’ experience within in a finance, process improvement, internal audit or risk focused role or equivalent designation and experience combination required

The Senior Environmental Protection Officer protects the environment by providing authoritative and professional advice to others on the Environmental Management Act and the management of industrial, municipal, agricultural, point and non-point source wastes and hazardous materials. The role manages authorizations of high-risk, complex and unique sites/situations in the region,
conducting source monitoring to study impacts of toxins and wastes to lead compliance, continuous improvement and effective management of waste discharges into the environment.

Qualifications for this role include:
• Masters of science degree or higher in environmental management, applied science or natural sciences with three (3) years of related experience; OR,
• Bachelor of science degree in environmental management, applied science or natural sciences with at least five (5) years of related experience.

Loans Origination Process: Completes required paperwork for new credit applications, ensuring all supporting documentation is in place and forwards to commercial expert for review and/or approval; ensures required information from financial statements is entered into loans origination system; completes letter of credit requests in loans origination system; and completes progress draw worksheets for construction loans and monitors loan disbursement requests.
