Timber & Tide at Camp Latona

Timber and Tide is a cultural celebration for youth at Camp Latona on Gambier Island.

Funded by the Reconciliation Action Fund, Timber and Tide will connect youth with their Métis heritage over a weekend long stay filled with relationship building, connections through nature, and a paddling journey through the Howe Sound. This is a fully-funded camp weekend with all meals provided.

Join us for the Plant and Species Identification Trip, taking place September 22 - 24, 2025 at Manning Park Resort. 

Led by MNBC's Ministry of Environment, Climate Change & Food Security, this in-person gathering invites Métis Citizens and self-identifying folks from across the province to explore pollinator habitats and species at risk.

Indigenous Rookie League Wrap Up Tournament

The inaugural season of the Indigenous Rookie League (IRL) comes to close this summer, and the Ministry of Sport and Active Living wants to celebrate with you! 

As well as including the final weekend of the IRL games, the tournament will include park games, a BBQ, and an award ceremony to celebrate the players, team successes, and IRL Honour Points. All are welcome to attend!

Métis Culture Talks: Lii Buflo Exhibition

Join us for a virtual evening of conversation centered around The Amelia Douglas Institute’s latest exhibition Lii Buflo: A Métis Way of Life.

Lii Buflo is a travelling exhibition developed in 2022 by Elk Island National Park, the Arts and Heritage Foundation of St. Albert, and a Métis advisory committee. It explores the historic and continuing relationships and cultural ties between the Métis people and the buffalo.

Goat Yoga at Maan Farms

The Ministry of Sport and Active Living will be hosting a Goat Yoga event on July 19!

We are offering 20 spots to participants who are interested in a fun, unique, and zany way to engage in an activity focused on active living and exercise! The event will be held at Maan Farms in Abbotsford and is currently open to Fraser Valley Chartered Community members.

If you love goats, yoga, and the idea of the two combined, this event is for you!

Sea to Sky Youth Spring Plant Walk

Calling all Métis youth ages 15-30 with a passion for nature and being outdoors! We are excited to invite you to join us on for a guided plant walk through the beautiful trails at the Sea to Sky Gondola in Squamish. You’ll also be introduced to citizen science tools like iNaturalist, where you can help identify and catalogue the magnificent species around you.

Métis Discussions about Dignity in Death and Dying

Coming together to understand Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) for Citizens in Regions 3 and 4.
 
Join us in this safe and supportive space where we'll explore what Medical Assistance in Dying is and what it is not. This complex topic will be approached with dignity and respect, and Métis culture will be woven through the conversations. Due to the sensitive nature of the topic, the event will be limited to 20 individuals. Travel, food, and accommodation will be covered for attendees.

Submissions Open for Michif Youth Art Contest

The Nature Speaks: Michif Youth Art Contest is open to all Métis Citizens and self-identifying youth aged 15-30 living in BC. We’re looking for creative artwork that represents species or natural elements in BC that are important to you.

Enter for a chance to win one of five $500 prizes! Selected entries will also be featured in a contest art booklet and on our social media channels.
