The Child Safety Program is supported by three (3) Managers who report to the Director of Integrated Practice and Operations for Child Safety, Family Preservation and Communications. The two (2) Practice Managers oversee seven (7) practice teams including family service, collaborative practice, Intake, and Out of Care Options. The CSO Manager, one (1) of the three (3) managers will provide coordination and supervision to the following personnel: In-Home Support Coordinator, Cultural Care Coordinator, two (2) Administrative Supervisors, and an Accounting Clerk.

The Operations Manager is responsible for:

• Managing the overall administrative, contractual and operational requirements in the CS program. This will include providing, coordination, guidance, and leadership to his/her direct reports and others as required.
• Supporting the combined efforts toward compliance to restorative child welfare practice as per VACFSS Keeping Our Children Safe policy and procedures, Director of CFCSA standards and directives and VACFSS practice and operational policies.
• Liaising with the contracted service providers, the finance department to track concrete needs funding allocation and expenditures by team with the CS finance clerk.
• Reviewing and reporting on the expenditures for concrete needs, out of care costs, and child in care costs by client number and other resources related to client support.
• Tracking compliance to care plans and other ICM requirements on behalf of the practice managers.
• Ensuring effective coordination for the supervision and transportation for the Access program including collecting data and reporting on the use of transportation and supervision every six (6) months to the Practice Managers and Director.
• Providing on site liaison with respect to property management, parking, IT support, equipment and asset control (for example, leased vehicles, janitorial services, etc.)
• Representing management as the lead for Occupational Safety & Health (OSH).
• Collecting data for the CS multi-year and reporting to the Director.
• Ensuring training needs are identified and coordinated within the CS Program. Supports the practice managers in delivering monthly required Program Training in OSH, Policies and Procedures and Practice.
• Planning and implementing of the hiring and retention strategies for the CS program in conjunction with the Director of Integrated Practice & Operations and the Human Resources Department.

THE ROLE
The Arena and Operation Supervisor plays an important role for Personnel Support Programs. They support both the Wurtele Arena and outdoor sporting facilities for our military members and their families.

You will oversee the day-to-day operations of the arena, outdoor facilities such as sports fields, assist in budgeting and acquiring supplies, ensure safety and emergency procedures are followed, ensure compliance with the Health & Safety Program, and potentially act as a Representative or member of a local NPF Committee. You will also help in training junior staff in their roles, working as one team with the shared goal of simplifying and improving the quality of life for our military members.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED
Education, Certifications and Licenses

High school diploma AND several years of experience in a related field
Current CPR and Standard First Aid certification
Valid Driver’s Licence (BC)

Experience

In Demonstrated Supervisory experience.

In resource administration

In operating an arena or similar facility

In ice maintenance procedures

In maintenance and lining of sports fields

In operating ice rink equipment

In operating outdoor facility maintenance equipment

Competencies

RFABC – Refrigeration Safety Awareness (or similar)
RFABC – Ice Makers Course (or have demonstrated equivalent experience)
Perform moderate lifting, carrying, pulling and/or pushing (i.e. more than 10 lbs/4.5 kg but less than 50 lbs/23 kg).

This is an on-site position with an assigned work location.

LE RÔLE
La ou le titulaire du poste joue un rôle important pour les Programmes de soutien du personnel puisqu’elle ou il s’occupe de l’aréna Wurtele et des installations sportives extérieures pour les militaires et leurs familles.

Vous superviserez les activités quotidiennes de l’aréna et des installations extérieures comme les terrains de sport, collaborerez à l’établissement du budget et à l’acquisition des fournitures, veillerez à ce que les procédures de sécurité et d’urgence soient suivies, assurerez le respect du programme de santé et de sécurité et pourriez siéger au comité local des FNP à titre de représentante ou représentant ou de membre. De plus, vous participerez à la formation du personnel subalterne et travaillerez en équipe dans le but commun d’améliorer la qualité de vie de nos militaires.
