Position Overview:
The Delegated Youth Services Social Worker will provide culturally safe and trauma-informed intensive support services to Indigenous youth aged 16-27 receiving services from the Child Welfare System or Community Living British Columbia (CLBC). The Delegated Youth Services Social Worker serves as the case manager of youth service files of youth residing at Kikékyelc: A Place of Belonging and/or Urban Métis youth residing within Kamloops. As the Case Manager, the Delegated Youth Services Social Worker holds the key to the completion of balanced assessments, the development of and monitoring of case plans, and the determination and monitoring of additional supports. The Delegated Youth Services Social Worker also provides direct support to youth and works collaboratively and respectfully with youth, their natural supports, Elders, and a holistic team of internal and external service providers to strengthen a youth’s capacity to protect, care for and support their independence.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Case Management
• Manages the effective implementation of the LMO Michif Practice Model and follows provincial practice standards
• Completes balanced assessments for youth services.
• Works collaboratively with youth, their support network and multiple service providers to develop effective prevention services plans.
• Monitors and evaluates progress towards identified goals and co-ordinates services, completes, and monitors referrals and responsibilities of other resources and members of a youth’s care team.

Position Summary:
The primary objective of the Childcare Manager role is to oversee the efficient operations of the Métis Family Services Society Childcare Centre on a day-to-day basis ensuring that the centre’s operations are aligned to meet the principles of cultural safety and trauma informed practice. The Childcare Manager will play a crucial role in defining program methodologies, with a special emphasis on Métis culture, establish and implement policies and procedures, developing a staffing plan, and managing various aspects of labor relations, from hiring to performance management, and employee exits. The Childcare Manager maintains responsibility for the day-to-day operations including facility and equipment compliance, licensing, program development and service delivery and evaluation, business operations within the program such as financial and human resource matters.The Childcare Manager will provide daily supervision, leadership, and mentorship within the Childcare Programs, including supervising the Early Childcare Educators and Early Childcare Educator Assistants. The Childcare Manager will ensure the work of their team is integrated and managed to provide a beneficial level of services to the client and community members served.

1. Managing the day-to-day operations of the Childcare Centre:

d. Manages the use of vacation time and/or overtime to ensure the unit’s salary liability is minimal. Authorizes vacation/accrued time and maintains appropriate records.
e. Sets performance expectations and oversees performance and training plans.
f. Carries out workplace investigations, applies progressive discipline, and terminates staff employment as required.
g. Manages staff succession and progression planning.
h. Provides leadership and support to Childcare staff regarding their daily activities.

b. Prepares monthly cash flow forecasts and recommends reallocation of funds, where required.
c. Develops and maintains the financial controls/procedures within the Childcare Centre.
d. Assumes primary responsibility of internal controls for family fees including oversight of Accounts Receivable controls.
e. Maintains the Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliant transaction system through daily administration, including monitoring, data entry, and generating a wide variety of general and ad-hoc reports.
f. Oversees daily program expenditures, ensuring that funds are spent within program guidelines.
g. Actively leads the assessment of current facilities and operational costs.
h. Assist finance department with reports, review and provide feedback as required.

4. Develops collaborative partnerships through efforts including:
a. Takes an active role working with community partners, Fraser Valley Métis Association, and program funders.
b. Works with colleagues on initiatives that focus on strong service delivery that positively impact the staff and family experience.
c. Leads and actively participates in all Childcare Centre meetings and all related leadership development initiatives.
d. Ensures that program is delivered in accordance with service deliverables as outlined in applicable funding contracts.

Qualifications, Education and Experience:

Job Summary:
The Senior Early Childhood Educator provides leadership and guidance for staff, volunteers and practicum students in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities for children 0-5 years of age, including infants/toddlers and children with support needs, to stimulate their intellectual, physical and emotional growth.
Reports To: Childcare Facility Manager (Mission)

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Welcomes new children and their families to the program. Explains and interprets the philosophy, goals and objectives of the program to families and answers questions. Ensures enrolment information is in order including medical and emergency information, dietary instructions and parental consent forms in compliance with statutory requirements such as licensing.
• Plans, carries out and evaluates developmentally and culturally appropriate activities and experiences for children using modelling, observing, questioning, demonstrating and reinforcing techniques.
• Develops daily program schedules that include cultural curriculum, indoor/outdoor, active/quiet and individual and group activities based on the children's interests.
• Identifies the abilities, interests and needs of children and develops individualized and group curriculum based on these.
• With Manager, recommends referrals or additional services for children, and works in consultation with professionals such as behavioural therapists, occupational therapists and speech-language pathologists.
• Reports on progress, behaviours and other issues . Meets with and collaborates with community support workers and other staff to create support/care plans.
• Contributes to transition plans for children moving on to elementary school. Maintains required records and statistics.
• Participates in planning and evaluation of programs offered by the organization. Provides suggestions and recommendations for program adjustments or changes to the Manager.
• Attends to the children’s physical and emotional needs including diapering, toileting, eating, sleeping, comforting and co-regulation.
• Administers first aid and medication in accordance with established policy.
• Ensures a healthy and safe environment in which the children can interact. Identifies and removes potential hazards.
• Communicates with families about children’s growth and development in collaboration with Manager. Requests input from and participation of parents in the development of programs.
• Performs other duties as required. Will assist with duties as discussed with the Childcare Facility Manager and Métis Early Years Program Coordinator.

Qualifications, Education and Experience:

Position Overview:
The Accounting Assistant will oversee all payroll accounting, account receivables, assist with accounts payable and financial functions for Lii Michif Otipemisiwak Family and Community Services (LMO) and its subsidiaries. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring accurate recording and reporting of timesheet entries, all related submissions to CRA, WCB, MPP, BCGEU. All aspects of Account Receivable, and Accounts Payable. Entry into accounting programs financial information, employee information, providing advice on financial matters and assist with general administrative duties as required. The position will involve interaction with staff and clients.

General Duties
• Completes monthly general ledger reconciliations.
• Prepares and/or assists in the preparation of finance-related reports, spreadsheets, and/or briefing notes as requested.
• Processes payment requests for agency and/or client-related purchases, including distribution of gift cards and company credit cards, and EFT transactions as required.
• Acts as relief for Accounts Payable as required.
• Assists in providing supporting information on financial activities relating to fulfilling contract administration requirements.
• Ensures all Payroll and Accounts Receivable related filing is up to date weekly and assists with Accounts Payable filing when needed.
• Posts all applicable receipts (cash, cheque, or EFT) in Bank Reconciliation weekly on Thursdays
• Prepares and/or assists in preparing finance-related policies for staff distribution.
• Travels to and from LMO offices within Kamloops and the bank to complete weekly deposits.

Payroll
• Verifies timesheets for both payroll companies on a bi-weekly basis.
• Processes payroll using infoHR and PayDirt bi-weekly and posts to bank by end of day Wednesday.
• Completes Record of Employment and final payments as required for terminations, resignations, and leaves of absence.
• Ensure accuracy in GoGlobal for payroll purposes.
• Completes and processes all mandatory employment related cost payments and reporting including BCGEU Union Dues, MPP, WCB, EI, CRA, Group Health, etc. by applicable due dates for both payroll companies.
• Processes all payroll related invoices, employee expense claims, etc. as required.
• Prepares payroll related documentation as required such as seniority reports, employee history, etc.
• Manages employee pension plan enrollments and terminations and submission of year end Payroll reports to MPP.
• Prepare and distribute T4, T4A’s, year-end CRA reconciliations and reports.

Accounts Receivable
• Prepares and distributes rent invoices for LMO Housing Society Tenants by the 1st of every month.
• Posts receivable invoices monthly
• Processes incoming payments and applies to applicable departments when received.
• Prepares receipt of payments for tenants, funders, etc. as required.
• Prepares and submits weekly bank deposits.
• Other duties as required.

Credit Cards and Gift Cards
• Monitor company credit card use by releasing credit cards to employees with approved payment requirements and tracking credit card use via sign-out calendar.
• Collect ALL receipts for credit card purchases, enter receipts into accounting software (Adagio), and ensure all transactions are coded to the appropriate department.
• Monthly reconciliation and posting of Credit Card Purchases by comparing posted transactions to collected receipts to ensure no discrepancies are present.
• Purchase Gift Cards as required
• Distribute and reconcile Gift Cards as required

Qualifications & Requirements
• Post-Secondary Diploma Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3 years related experience in administering payroll for 50-plus employees
• Proficiency in using module-based accounting programs (i.e. PayDirt, Adagio, infoHR/Go Global)
• Previous experience in an Indigenous non-profit agency
• Knowledge of Métis history, culture, and community
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
