About the opportunity:

Senior Administrative Coordinator

Shared Responsibilities

Main Responsibilities:

Documentation and Communication Support:

Prepare and send standard, communications and high-level sensitive documentation as required, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy. Draft more complex messages and documentation for review and approval on behalf of the Director’s and follow up as needed.

Facilitate communication between the Indigenous Midwifery Program team and internal/external stakeholders, acting as a gatekeeper ensuring all communication is acknowledged and directing inquiries to the appropriate person, triaging calls, emails, and correspondence.

Develop procedural documentation and information related to the Senior Administrative Coordinator role.

Governance, Working Groups, and Meeting Support:

Organize and coordinate various team meetings and external meetings with stakeholders and partners.

Provide comprehensive administrative support for the Council of the IMCBC monthly meetings and Annual Gathering Meeting, including attendance, as well as supporting other various working groups and meetings as needed.

Support the implementation and maintenance of governance structures, including parliamentary procedures, bylaws, and terms of reference.

Proactively create agendas including attachments, prepare reports and presentations for meetings under the direction of leadership or Senior Staff, and prepare debriefs from meetings.

Position Summary:
The Indigenous ECE Coordinator will support Indigenous children’s improved development and life outcomes by providing high-quality Indigenous early years programming to empower young children with a strong sense of identity. The Indigenous Early Years Coordinator is responsible for the development and facilitation of culturally safe early years’ drop-in program (Story Blanket). Position Summary:
To provide a safe and culturally relevant space for the purpose of visitation. The Supported Access Worker (AW) works with an inter-agency team and the family to reduce the trauma of separation of the child by facilitating positive visits between family members to maintaining significant relationships in the child’s life. • Experience working with Indigenous peoples (First Nation Communities, Métis and Inuit) and knowledge and appreciation of the diversity of practice in culture

Key Responsibilities:
• Works in consultation with all participating parties, the inter-agency team, the family and caregivers to plan, coordinate, and schedule supervised access visits
• Provide supervision of children in care and/or awaiting placement and ensures that the terms and conditions of visits are followed
• Set up visit space with age appropriate activates, mindful of the child’s development stage, to support the visits by the child/ren and or youth with their parents, family members and/or significant others
• Observes and objectively documents supervised access visits and interactions and be prepared to testify about this in court, if necessary.
• Maintain files in accordance with the accreditation standards.
• Proactively budget, manage and reconcile petty cash
• Ensure and uphold the confidentiality of all information and materials relating to all participants, personnel, volunteers, and the business of Fraser River Indigenous Society
• Effectively communicate with family members, caregivers and social workers on developing goals and outcomes for individual families referred to the program
• Provide teaching opportunities for parents to learn parenting skills, that are consistent with the established Family Plan
• Monitoring and, if necessary, intervening with the parent and/or child who demonstrates inappropriate physical or verbal behaviors
• Responsible for monthly stats and reports to the Family Development Programs manager and other reporting duties as required by the funder

POSITION SUMMARY
The Indigenous Child Resource Navigator provides support and will act as a primary contact for First Nations, Métis and Inuit families with children and youth with support needs aged 0 – 19 years and support them to access needed CYSN programs and services. This will include working in partnership with families, MCFD, and other providers of CYSN programs and services to support an integrated and accessible range of programming that meets child, youth, and family needs. The Resource Navigator will assist families with the planning process, provide information on service access and availability, and coordinate referrals to other CYSN providers. Work with and include Elders and community to ensure services are delivered in a proactive,responsive, and culturally appropriate manner Must possess the physical ability to consistently bend, lift, and carry a weight of up to 10kg.
QUALIFICATIONS:
•Diploma in a related human/social service field
•1 year related experience working with Children and Youth with Support Needs and theirfamilies and other professionals, or an equivalent combination of relevant education andrelated experience
•Experience and knowledge of Indigenous culture, traditions, history and issues and theability to work respectively with Indigenous people
•Knowledge of communities and community partners within Maple Ridge and PittMeadows or the willingness to learn
•Strong relationship-building, communication, and facilitation skills
