About the Opportunity

The Payroll and Benefits Specialist processes full-cycle payroll, and administers employee benefits and the Municipal Pension Plan, while supporting daily People & Culture operations. The Specialist ensures compliance with various regulatory bodies and internal policies, including the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), BC Pension Corporation, and WorkSafe BC, as well as the Employment Standards Act and MNBC policies. 

The Specialist oversees all aspects of employee benefit administration and pension plan enrollments and ensures accurate reconciliation of payroll and benefit premiums in collaboration with the Finance Department. Timely and accurate processing of employee payroll on a bi-weekly schedule is a key duty, along with managing and updating payroll reports, conducting ad-hoc reports, and processing merit increases. Additionally, the Specialist assists with resolving payroll and benefit issues promptly and provides support to other HR functions, including onboarding , and leave management.

About the Opportunity

The Recording and Documentation Assistant provides crucial support to the preservation and revitalization initiatives of the Ministry of Culture, Heritage and Language (MoCHL). This position also actively engages in language collection: supporting Elders/speakers during documentation sessions, operating recording, filming and lighting equipment, assisting with the procurement and purchasing of equipment and the maintenance of an up-to-date equipment log, notetaking during sessions and managing and maintaining digital files including following the Ministry’s language data maintenance plan and providing feedback on its implementation. This position also supports with postproduction of materials: Michif language(s) and English transcription (either independently or in collaboration with language experts), minor linguistic analysis, video and audio editing, distribution of access files, and managing archival digital files.

The EY Program Assistant is responsible for providing program and administrative support to
the Early Years department. This position requires a team member who is multifaceted and can
keep programs connected and running smoothly. Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of
all information, communicates internally and externally to respond to inquiries and clarify details,
coordinates appointments, meetings, organize and assist with events, workshops, cultural
training, submits and tracks ASCD finance information, such as disbursements and maintains

support, and purchase program supplies. Assists EY Manager with HR and on boarding of new
hires. Designs, creates, and maintains correspondence, documents, presentations, orientation

Qualifications:
• Diploma pertaining to office assistant/administration with bookkeeping/budgeting,
Early Years’ experience with support needs
• 3-5 years’ work experience as administrative support, or an equivalent

• Demonstrates working knowledge of Indigenous family centered service, child

Reports to: Michif Child Safety Team Leader

Position Overview:
The primary responsibility of our Michif team is to promote the safety and well-being of Métis children, youth, and families. At Lii Michif Otipemisiwak Family and Community Services (LMO), we believe this is best achieved through a trauma-informed and culturally safe approach to practice that supports the healing journey of a child, youth, and their family. Guided by our Michif Practice Model, as the case manager, the delegated social worker holds the key to completing balanced assessments, developing and monitoring case plans, and determining and monitoring additional supports. The Delegated Social Worker also provides direct support to youth/families and works collaboratively and respectfully with youth/families, their natural supports, Elders, and a holistic team of internal and external service providers to strengthen a youth/families’ capacity to protect, care for and support their independence.
1. Duties and Responsibilities
Case Management
• Follows provincial practice standards and the guidelines of the LMO Michif Practice Model
• Completes balanced assessments for family and youth services.
• Works collaboratively with youth/families, their support network and multiple service providers to develop effective prevention services plans.
• Monitors and evaluates progress towards identified goals and coordinates services, completes, and monitors referrals and responsibilities of other resources and members of a youth/family’s care team.
• Provide direct one-to-one support to youth/families to support progress towards identified goals.
• Facilitate planning and review meetings that promote permanency, life-long family and cultural connections and a road to independence.
• Monitors and evaluates progress towards established goals and coordinates services and responsibilities of other resources.
• Closes files in accordance with the LMO Michif Practice Model and coordinates honouring celebrations for youth/families and their support networks.
• Maintains clear and accurate documentation, reports, and records.
• Provides explanation to child/youth of why they are in care and involves child/youth in ongoing planning.
• Consult with the Team Leader and receive approval at all key case planning and decision-making points.
• Maintains the involvement of the child’s extended family and natural support network in planning.
• Respects the right for privacy and confidentiality.
Community Development
• Develops positive working relationships with community partners.
• Participates in agency activities, gatherings, and celebrations.
• Other duties as assigned or required.

2. Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in the area of human/social services; Child Welfare Specialization/Practicum Preferred
• Preference will be given to those applicants with a letter of delegation or previous letter of delegation.
• Applicants without a letter of delegation must be prepared to attend delegation training through the Indigenous Perspective Society.

About the opportunity:

As a Service Delivery Manager (SDM), you will manage the day-to-day operations of CLBC services within an assigned service delivery area.
