
ABOUT THE MÉTIS CHILD CARE BENEFIT PROGRAM
The Métis Child Care Benefit Program is a service offered by the Métis Child Care Navigation and Support Program, for families with Métis children from birth to 12 years. Through the Métis Child Care Benefit Program, families can access additional funding, bridging the connection to the Affordable Child Care Benefit.
The Métis Child Care Benefit (MCCB) is a monthly benefit to support parents with their Licensed or Registered License-Not-Required childcare and Licensed Preschool fees.
The supplement for Licensed or Registered License-Not-Required Child Care costs are calculated at a monthly rate, to a maximum of $500.00 per child, per month.
The supplement for Licensed Preschool is calculated at a daily rate, to a maximum benefit of $12.50 per child, per day.
Before You Apply, You Will Need:
- To be an MNBC Citizen and provide your citizenship number. You can access the registry here: Become A Registered Métis Citizen
- Your child/children to be enrolled in the Métis Family Connections Program. For more information on this program please visit Métis Family Connections
- To have applied to the Affordable Child Care Benefit program prior to application. You will need to provide an approval or denial letter in your MCCB application. Apply for the Affordable Child Care Benefit – Province of British Columbia (gov.bc.ca)
- To have completed the Child Care Provider form. This must be completed by the Parent/Legal Guardian and Child Care Provider. (This form will be provided during the application process)
