The Finance Business Partner is responsible for delivering financial support to specific lines of business and/or subsidiaries. Budget & Forecasting: Supports the annual business plan and budget process which aligns with the credit union’s strategic goals; manages the forecast process and provides recommendations.
Financial Reporting: Prepares line of business reporting ensuring content is consistent with First West standards and supports strong financial governance; and supports finance leadership in the preparation of strategic documents.
Business Initiatives: Participates in business initiatives representing finance, supporting the business in developing sound financial business cases, and presenting financial best practices.
Relationship Building: Develops strong working relationships with all business units and department leaders while assisting them in achieving the organizational strategic and financial priorities; focuses on establishing and maintaining excellent service standards for the finance team; and grows and leads the finance team by creating an environment that supports teamwork, collaboration, and the achievement of results.
Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting or in a related field required
CPA, CGA, CA or CMA required; alternatively, CFA
5 years’ experience in progressively senior positions within the financial services industry or in an analysis focused role required
Working knowledge of corporate planning processes required
Proven ability to collaborate with cross departmental and multiple business unit groups required
Excellent communication skills, ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form
Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a team environment and support strong interpersonal relationships
Strong action orientation combined with the ability to balance practical implementations issues.
Ability to take business concepts and visions and create solutions, coupled with the ability to understand the trends and future direction of the financial services industry

We are currently seeking a Facilities Administrator to join our team in Penticton or Kelowna.

Provides administrative support to the Facilities department with a variety of responsibilities related to equipment contracts and service agreements, physical security for all locations, pass cards, and occupational health & safety. Assists with budget development and monitors ongoing expenses. Actively participates in special projects as assigned.

Here’s what would be included as a part of your typical day

Invoicing & Work Orders: Reviews invoices from vendors to ensure they are accurate and coded to the correct accounts prior to being sent to Finance for payment. Assists Maintenance Technician’s processing ‘work order’ requests for maintenance activities and provide support to internal stakeholders by responding to requests for assistance or resolving challenges affecting the daily operation of the organization’s facilities services.
Vendor Management: Maintains selected equipment contracts and service agreements by obtaining quotes, liaison with and scheduling established vendors and providing feedback to the Manager on vendor performance and making related recommendations to improve vendor service delivery. Ensures service level agreements with vendors are being met.
Security, Safety & Access: Monitors status of physical security, alarm and camera set-up, and access to regional First West locations. Facilitates the procurement and installation of new security equipment and ensure security equipment is maintained. Oversees the issuing and deactivating of security and parking passes and keys and ensure semi-annual audits are completed on passes & keys. Operates and maintains the heating, ventilation and air conditioning control system for the Regional Office if required. As a member of the Business Continuity Team for Facilities, participates in the provision of selected emergency business disruption services to the organization to protect staff and members during events such as gas leaks, earthquake, fire, power loss or any other significant event affecting facility operation.
Project Support & Budgeting: Assists the Facilities Services Management with the development of annual capital and operational budgets; monitors expenses relating to assigned general ledgers on an ongoing basis to ensure expenditures do not exceed budgeted resources. Participates in a variety of special projects related to the provision of facilities services to the organization; participate in or leads the coordination of special events. Participates in projects specific to property administration, renovations and other areas as assigned, coordinating outside services as required.
Administrative Support: Supports Facilities Services Management by setting up meetings, assisting with correspondence and resolving issues relating to the day to day operations of Facilities Services. Maintains good working relationships within all departments with communication and understanding of needs and expectations. Coordinates facility permits and environmental regulations. Supervisor, Facilities Services responsible for supervising, organizing, and directing Facilities Services activities and initiatives, including branch and regional office maintenance and non-capital projects. Assists the Manager as required relating to the day-to-day operation of facilities; provides after-hour backup and responds to emergency requests for assistance. May supervise facilities administrators in certain regions.
Maintenance and Security: Acts as day-to-day point of contact for branch/regional office teams for all Facilities related issues. Directs and deploys maintenance resources for property maintenance work orders to ensure timely resolution of requests. Coordinates use of outside services and contractors, as required. Maintains close coordination and open communication with other departments/functions to ensure resolution of problems, issues, and challenges. Responsible for the physical security of all Facilities in the region including alarms, cameras, guards, card access system, keys, locks, vaults, safety deposit boxes and other related equipment.
Projects: Participates in and leads soft (non-capital) projects specific to property, furniture, equipment replacement/upgrades, and other areas as assigned. Coordinates the repair or replacement of loss or damaged assets with suppliers and contractors. Identifies, tracks and schedules replacement of capital assets throughout the region ensuring databases and charge-back structures are maintained.
Budgets: Assists with the development of annual operational budgets; monitors expenses on an ongoing basis to ensure expenses are kept to the minimum.
Business Continuity: Assists the Manager as an active member of the Business Continuity Team and ensures all members of the Facilities Services team are aware of their roles and expectations during major business disruptions and/or events. Acts as point of contact for all after-hours emergencies

The Commercial Lending Administrator (CLA) is responsible for providing day-to-day administration support for FW commercial lending division and ensuring commercial lending transactions and security management are completed in a timely and accurate manner. Commercial Loans: Performs administrative tasks related to setting up and advancing commercial loans and prepares required documentation for credit and mortgage transactions; verifies registers, renews, discharges and administers all required security and searches. Reviews out of order and watch list, as required; processes draws and verifies funding disbursements; generates loan security; registers and maintains personal property security assignments (PPSA) and other duties, as required. Ensures any deficiencies are detected, tracked, and resolved effectively.
Administrative Support: Processes and inputs all loan renewals/extensions for commercial mortgages and letters of credit and follows up on missing documentation. Processes margining requests for commercial lines of credit. Portfolio Support: Monitors a portfolio of commercial accounts for compliance to terms and conditions; monitors lines of credit and recommends revisions to credit limits; maintains security in good order and follows up with clients as required. High school diploma required, certificate in a related field preferred
2 years’ experience in a loan and/or securities administration role
