MNBC Mental Health & Harm Reduction Workshop at the College of New Caledonia Indigenous Culture Week

College of New Caledonia, 545 Hwy 16 West, Burns Lake, BC V0J 1E1

On Wednesday, March 25, 2026, the MNBC Mental Health & Harm Reduction team will be presenting at the College of New Caledonia (Burns Lake Campus) Indigenous Culture Week.

This workshop aims to create a safe, welcoming, and engaging space for participants to explore health and wellness through Métis culture, connection, and movement. By grounding mental, emotional, physical, spiritual, and social well-being in Métis teachings, the workshop supports participants in strengthening their sense of identity and belonging.

Participants will spend time crafting a deer hide Métis bag, complete with traditional medicines, to help them connect with Métis culture and traditional wellness.

All participants are encouraged to reflect on what balance looks like for them, recognize their strengths, and build tools they can use in daily life. The purpose is not to have all the answers, but to support curiosity, confidence, and reconnection while reminding participants that they belong; their experiences matter, and their well-being is worth nurturing.

Please reach out to MNBC Youth Wellness Coordinator, Shelby Payne at spayne@mnbc.ca for more information.
