There are three (3) positions available - 2 with Development and, 1 with Silviculture.
For Development, for the two positions, of which, one each will be filled in any of the following locations, 100mile, Clearwater, Merritt or Kamloops. For Silviculture, the position can be performed at 100 Mile House or Clearwater. Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home a number of days a week subject to an approved telework agreement.

Operations Technologist
$69,760.70 - $79,322.69 annually

The Operations Technologist on either the Development or Silviculture team with BC timber Sales (BCTS) uses drive and expertise to ensure a variety of operational deliverables are achieved in the planning, development and silviculture teams while balancing environmental, legislative, and interested parties’ considerations. As contract specialists, they take the lead and provide tactical support to their teams using creative solutions, strong relationships, and technical expertise. This role ensures key decisions are made and executed to allow for sustainable and climate-conscious forestry practices. The role uses persistence and support to complete a collaborative, multi-faceted team approach, to achieving set goals and realizing successes. Qualifications for this role include:

• Graduation from an approved technical institute with a diploma or degree in resource or forestry management and three years of experience in one or more operational field forestry activities
OR
• An equivalent combination of education or experience such as five years of experience in one or more area of operational field forestry.
• Operational field forestry activities include one or more of the following:
o Timber harvesting monitoring/conformance
o Cut-block development
o Forest road engineering
o Silviculture
o Timber tenure development and administration
• Applicants must be registered or eligible for registration with the Association of British Columbia Forest Professionals (ABCFP) as a Registered Forest Technologist or equivalent.
• Must possess at minimum a valid Class 5 B.C. Driver’s License that does not limit or restrict the ability to conduct the duties of the job.
