District Technician
$76,071.18 - $86,658.48 annually

Under the direction of the District Manager and/or District Program Engineer, the District Technician has a key role in the development and delivery of the annual District program and managing concurrent highway construction projects.

The position is accountable for project planning, design, delivery and technical support services of projects within the district. Activities of the position include but are not limited to planning, design, construction, environmental and archaeological studies, municipal cost sharing agreements, route selection, cost estimates and projections, contract administration and the process of public consultation.

Qualifications for this role include:

• Degree from a recognized institute of technology and a minimum of one (1) year related experience; OR,
• Diploma from a recognized institute of technology and a minimum of two (2) years related experience; OR,
• Highschool or equivalent plus five (5) years related experience.
• Must possess and maintain a valid BC Driver’s Licence.

Preference may be given to applicants with the following:

• Experience in project management.
• Experience in highway operations and contract administration.
• Experience in program development, budgeting and financial forecasting.
• Field Experience related to construction, construction supervision or contract administration.
