Area Manager Roads
$76,071.18 - $86,658.48 annually

The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure plans and improves transportation networks, builds new infrastructure, provides transportation services, and implements transportation policies to allow for the safe and efficient movement of people and goods.

The Area Manager, Roads acts as the local ministry representative with partners on highway operations related issues, customer service delivery and oversees, audits and monitors road maintenance programs. This position assumes a leadership role in developing and maintaining key relations within the BC government, other government officials and external agencies.

Qualifications for this role include:

• University or college degree in a related field of study** and one (1) year related experience* OR,
• Diploma from a recognized Institute of Technology (e.g. Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of BC) in a related field of study** and three (3) years related experience* OR,
• Secondary School diploma (or GED) and a minimum of five (5) years related experience*.
• Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s license in good standing.

*Related experience includes the following:
• Experience in highway construction and/or maintenance, project management, contract management, traffic management surveying or audit processes, procedures and practices.

**Related field of study means study includes the following:
• Civil engineering, structural engineering, construction technology, surveying, geology, geography or project management.

Preference may be given to applicants with:
• Area Manager Roads Certificate of Completion from BCIT.
