Workshops
The owner, Tabi, has Metis ancestry with roots in Whitemud River Manitoba and the Rocky Boy Reserve in Montana on her maternal side, and mixed European (but primarily Norwegian) ancestry on her paternal side.
Tabi has been beading for around 5 years, and sewing for around 4. She was introduced to both initially by community teachers and has since been primarily self-taught.
Tabi has also started running workshops as a way to decolonize and to share the knowledge and connection to culture that has become such an important part of her reconnection to lost culture, and she loves being able to share that with her community.
Michif Misfit is grateful to operate on the unceded traditional territories of the Lekwungen and WSANEC speaking peoples of the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations.
