On April 20, 2026, the MNBC Board of Directors approved the following resolution:
THAT the MNBC Board of Directors call a virtual Special Metis Nation Governing Assembly on May 6, 2026 at 6 PM for the purposes of calling a byelection and considering other matters related to the byelection, as necessary; and
FURTHER THAT the MNBC Board of Directors recommends September 12, 2026, as the byelection date for the MNGA’s consideration.
Métis Nation British Columbia hereby serves official notice to all Métis Nation Governing Assembly members that there will be a Special MNGA, convening virtually on May 6, 2026, at 6:00 PM PT, for the purposed noted above.
Chartered Community Representatives
Chartered Community Representatives are required to register. Article 3.2 of the MNGA Act identifies who may attend on behalf of Communities. Please note there is a specific requirement to notify the Clerk if there is someone other than the President or Vice President attending on behalf of the community. These notifications can be sent to kwayask@mnbc.ca. If this is a Community Representative’s first MNGA, they are required to fill out and submit the MNGA Oath to kwayask@mnbc.ca, prior to accessing the meeting.
