National Indigenous Peoples Day

MNBC invites you to join in celebrating and honouring National Indigenous Peoples Day (NIPD). A day dedicated to recognizing the diverse cultures, traditions, languages, and contributions of Métis, First Nations, and Inuit peoples across Canada.

For Métis people, this is also a time to celebrate the unique stories, identity, and resilience of our Nation, and to recognize the many ways Métis communities, language, and culture continue to thrive today.

We encourage everyone to deepen their understanding of Indigenous histories and cultures, support Indigenous-led events and businesses, and reflect on the enduring connection Indigenous peoples have maintained with these lands since time immemorial.

To continue your learning journey, visit Amelia Douglas Institute online or in person to explore Métis stories, language, and cultural resources.

Be sure to check out the many National Indigenous Peoples Day events taking place in communities across the province.

May this day serve not only as a celebration but also as a meaningful commitment to ongoing learning, respect, and reconciliation.
