December 15, 2025, SURREY, BC – Today, the Métis Nation British Columbia (MNBC) Board of Directors voted to reinstate President Walter Mineault effective immediately. After much consideration and clarification of the MNBC Constitution, the Board determined it needed to take the necessary steps to move forward. The Board will work together with President Mineault to strengthen the Nation. We are committed to upholding fair process as outlined in our Constitution and strengthening our governance. The Board will also work with the Senate to continue mediation between President Mineault and the Board, to help resolve our differences and find common ground. Our relationships, communities and our familial connections have always defined us as a Nation. In the spirit of Otipmisiwak, the people who own themselves, we are stronger together than apart.
