Climate hazards are continuing to impact the health and safety of Métis communities. MNBC's (Marine) Safety Training program aims to build Métis climate resilience and capacity by supporting Citizens in the uptake of marine safety and emergency management skills. MNBC Citizens will have the opportunity to gain critical expertise in emergency preparedness and response though a fully funded program.
This specialized training opportunity is being offered in collaboration with the Canadian Coast Guard.
Potential opportunities include:
- First Aid (Various)
- Introduction to Oil Spills
- Shoreline Cleanup Assessment Technique (SCAT)
- Small Vessel Operator Course (SVOP)
- Small Domestic Vessel Basic Safety (SDV-BS)
- Restricted Operator Certificate – Maritime (ROC-M)
- Emergency Management courses from Justice Institute of BC including:
- Plus, other training opportunities that arise.
