Join the Ministry of Culture, Heritage and Language and the Amelia Douglas Institute for a special session in the Métis Culture Talks series, Stories from the Exhibition – Proudly Adorned: The Tradition of Métis Dog Blankets.

This Métis Culture Talks session will explore the Amelia Douglas Institute’s latest exhibition Proudly Adorned: The Tradition of Métis Dog Blankets, which showcases the work of the Métis artists who participated in MNBC’s 2025 Mini Dog Blanket Heritage Arts Mentorship!

We’ll take a closer look at the exhibition and the history behind Métis dog blankets as well as their presence in contemporary Métis art. We’ll be joined by artist Cynthia Boehm, the facilitator for the Mentorship, and Dr Amelia Fay, Curator of Anthropology and the HBC Museum Collection at the Manitoba Museum.
