Senior Intergovernmental Relations Analyst
$85,813.18 - $97,879.22 annually, which includes a 3.3% Temporary Market Adjustment*

The Senior Intergovernmental Relations Analyst coordinates and leads the research, analysis, development and implementation of intergovernmental policies for the Ministry of Water, Land and Resource Stewardship (WLRS) and across the Natural Resource Sector. This position works across intergovernmental relations (IGR) teams in all NRS ministries and the IGR Secretariat in the Premier’s Office to build and maintain a network of contacts to support work that is often multi-disciplinary, inter-divisional, or inter-ministerial, timely and political. This position maintains an inventory of sector-wide IGR priorities and responds to requests for information on WLRS programs and initiatives. This position provides advice to member ministries on IGR considerations, takes a leadership role on key files in collaboration with business areas as needed, and supports the Canadian Secretariat for the transboundary Skagit Environmental Endowment Commission.

Qualifications for this role include:
• Master’s degree in public administration, business administration, law, economics, social sciences, natural resource management or a field related to the program area and 2 years of related experience; OR
• Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, law, economics, social sciences, natural resource management or a field related to the program area and 3 years of related experience; OR
• Diploma in public administration, business administration, law, economics, social sciences, natural resource management or a field related to the program area and 4 years related experience; OR
• Certificate or coursework in public administration, business administration, law, economics, social sciences, natural resource management or a field related to the program area and 5 years related experience; OR
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
*Related experience must include:
• Experience in identifying, analyzing or presenting summaries of emerging intergovernmental and policy issues.
• Experience working with the Natural Resource Sector. Preference may be given to applicants with subject matter or technical expertise.
• Experience in planning and coordinating complex projects/assignments.
• Experience in the development of legislation, regulation or policy.
