Operations Manager, BC Timber Sales
$88,700.23 - $125,700.07 annually

BC Timber Sales (BCTS) is a unique program of the Ministry of Forests. Working collaboratively with regional and district operations, BCTS plans, develops and auctions a substantial portion of the province’s annual available timber volume.

The Operations Manager is responsible for negotiations involving business to business arrangements. As a member of the Business Area management team, the Operations Manager provides overall leadership and management of the forest resource planning, Indigenous and industry partnership relations, data stewardship and environmental and safety certification components of the business.

Qualifications for this role include:

• Degree or diploma in resource management, public administration, Indigenous studies or equivalent and five (5) years of related experience.
• Experience in program administration including allocating resources, leading and coaching diverse teams, supervising staff and strategic business planning, procurement and financial management.
• Experience developing and maintaining working relationships with Indigenous and industry partners in natural resource management or infrastructure development.
• Experience with resolving problems through negotiation.

Preference may be given to applicants with one (1) or more of the following:

• Experience participating in negotiations with Indigenous Peoples.
• Experience conducting research and analysis related to land use, resource management, social or economic development issues.
• Experience working with Indigenous Peoples.
