Regional Dam Safety Engineer
$77,718.46 - $103,695.05 annually, plus 6.5% Recruitment & Retention Adjustment
The Regional Fish and Wildlife Program is part of the Resource Stewardship Division within the Ministry of Water, Land, and Resource Stewardship. The Fish and Wildlife Program owns water licenses associated with dam infrastructure on a variety of lakes. These dams support fisheries values in addition to public safety and water conservation benefits.
The role of the Regional Dam Safety Engineer is to provide oversight to fish and wildlife-owned dams. This position will provide and apply professional expertise regarding dam management, including safety and engineering, for the Thompson-Okanagan Region. This position will manage high-profile provincial assets that require a designated professional engineer to meet legislation and contribute to the sustainable management of provincial fish populations.

Qualifications for this role include:
• Degree in civil engineering or geotechnical engineering or equivalent as recognized by Engineers and Geoscientists BC.
• Registered, or immediately eligible for registration, as a fully licensed professional in British Columbia with the Engineers and Geoscientists BC.
• *Note: immediately eligible for registration is defined as being able to immediately transfer a current membership from an applicable jurisdiction to EGBC within six (6) months of employment. If you are not currently registered, advise how you have confirmed with EGBC you are immediately eligible. Confirmation of registration/eligibility is required before an offer of employment can be confirmed.
• Related experience in project management of infrastructure planning, design.
• Experience monitoring work of contracted resources.
