Danielle Levine

Danielle Levine is a proud citizen of the Métis Nation of British Columbia. She was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba where she completed her undergrad degree and began her career working with remote northern Indigenous communities. She moved to BC and has lived in the lower mainland since 1999.  Danielle is a social entrepreneur and an educator who strives to create meaningful learning opportunities through her independent consulting practice.

For the past 5 years Danielle has worked with the Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia (CPABC) on building an Indigenous Engagement strategy. An important goal of the strategy is to increase awareness of the profession and to engage with communities on the value of a CPA. With a longer-term goal of Increasing the number of Indigenous CPA’s in British Columbia and the Yukon. She also leads the CPABC Financial Literacy program where she works on programming and delivery of financial literacy sessions for a variety of audiences including children, youth, students, adults, seniors, new Canadians, and Indigenous Peoples.

Over the years, Danielle has helped to develop several entrepreneurship accelerator programs including the Entreprenorth program, e@UBC and the Kanuu Indigenous Innovation Society, which is an organization that she founded. She has also custom designed a food entrepreneurship program for Indigenous hunters and gatherers in Inuvik, NWT that incorporated food sovereignty, entrepreneurial development, and traditional Indigenous knowledge. 

While working at the Sauder School of Business at UBC, Danielle designed many courses including a full MBA credit for visiting Māori students from the University of Waikato Management School in New Zealand. Danielle’s other accomplishments include a custom leadership program for the Musqueam Indian Band, an innovative mentorship program that matched Indigenous students with UBC alumni, and a course that introduced real estate development in urban settings for Indigenous students.

Danielle currently serves on many Boards, Committees, and Advisory Groups. Danielle is on the Board of Directors for the Chief Joe Mathias Aboriginal Scholarship Fund, and she is a member of the National Indigenous Economic Development Board which advises the federal government on issues related to Indigenous economic development in Canada. She also sits on the CPA Martin mentorship program for Indigenous high school students and the Indigenous Advisory Committee for the School of Business at the University of the Fraser Valley. Danielle is a former board member of the Vancouver Native Housing Society and is a founder and former board member of the Fraser River All Nations Aboriginal Society.   

Danielle has a Master of Business Administration degree where her final project was on developing and delivering Financial Literacy programming for urban Indigenous communities. Danielle has certificates in: Community Economic Development from Simon Fraser University, and Decolonizing Education from Wilfred Laurier University and a micro-credential in ESG from BCIT.
