Richard comes to us with a long history of working on disability access issues as a blind individual. Richard first became a Métis Nation of BC citizen in 2019 after discovering his family heritage was Métis.
In 2014, Richard worked with others in Vancouver to provide live Audio Description for people who are blind attending the Vancouver Pride Parade. This was the first time any parade in Western Canada had live audio description. As a result of this work, the Pride Parade is more inclusive for people who are blind and part of the 2SLGBTQQIA+ community. Richard is looking forward to contributing to the MNBC 2SLGBTQQIA + Advisory Committee as he looks to be more involved in MNBC.
