Gathering to Heal: 2SLGBTQQIA+ GBV

The Ministry of Mental Health & Harm Reduction, and the Ministry of Women & Gender Equity invite all 2SLGBTQQIA+ Métis in "BC" (18 years & older) to complete the expression of interest form. 
This form will be open from Friday, August 11th until Friday Sept 01, 2023. 
 
Important Note: Due to limited space (24 people), the Expression of Interest Form does not guarantee one's attendance. Please complete this Expression of Interest Form to be entered in a lottery-style selection draw. The lottery selection process ensures equitable attendance from all 7 regions in "BC". This will not be the only event of its kind, so those who are not selected for November 2023 will remain on the waitlist for future offerings.

Q: What is gender-based violence (GBV) for Two-Spirit & LGBTQQQIA+ folks? 
A: Gender-Based Violence is, "violence that an individual faces because of their gender, gender expression, gender identity or perceived gender" GBV can look like "transphobia, homophobia, biphobia, family violence, intimate partner violence (IPV) sexual violence and street violence". To learn more, please explore this resource, or contact mowge@mnbc.ca or click this Resource

 

Take part in exploring Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and Mental Health by engaging in cultural activities while assessing strength-based strategies for healing and survival through discussion questions. Each discussion will be led by a 2SLGBTQQIA+ Métis facilitator. Mental Health & Harm Reduction staff supports will be available, as well as plant medicines and grounding activities for our wellness.
