MNBC is proud to be offering the Growing Our Children Good Beginnings Professional Development for Child Care Providers Course from September 13, 2022 to October 20, 2022.

Are you currently providing care for children or thinking about becoming a child care provider? If you are interested in providing family child care in your home, this course is for you!

The COVID-19 crisis highlighted and exacerbated the existing challenges faced in child care and recruitment to the field.

Making quality training accessible to all Métis child care providers in the province of B.C. is extremely valuable and will directly correlate to quality child care.

This course is designed to meet the required hours of professional training as stipulated by Child Care Licensing Regulations. Through interactive sessions, this course covers: child development, guidance, health and safety, nutrition, as well as managing a child care business.

This curriculum meets the training requirements to qualify individuals to work in child care settings for children from birth to 12 years, such as:

  • Family Child Care
  • Occasional Licensed Child Care
  • School-Age Licensed Group Child Care

The Good Beginnings Course is beneficial to our Métis community as we move forward with the recruitment and retention of Métis Early Learning and Child Care professionals, and by supporting our Métis families with the creation of culturally appropriate child care programming.

This 30-hour Online Program will be delivered from September 13, 2022 to October 20, 2022 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00am – 12:30pm.

Completion of all lessons is mandatory for certification.
