The Ministry of Education is thrilled to announce the long-awaited arrival of 70 HP Chromebooks and 30 Amazon Fire Tablets for Métis learners, aged 9-18.
For Métis students to be eligible they must meet the criteria below:
- Parent/guardian and/or student will need to provide a MNBC Citizenship number or proof of active citizenship application in the central registry
- Must reside in British Columbia
- Must be between the ages of 9 and age 18.
- Must be enrolled in a public, independent, online school, or homeschooling.
Supplies are limited and applications will be processed on a first come, first serve basis. Families are welcome to apply for one tool per eligible child. Laptops and tablets will be ready for distribution mid-June. Please note that a physical address will be required for delivery. There are no substitutions of items and supplies are limited. Chromebooks and Tablets will be available on a first come first serve basis. Funding for this initiative was provided by Indigenous Services Canada’s Indigenous Community Support Fund.
