Métis Family Connections – Middle Years

May 9th, 2022 – MNBC’s Ministry of Education is excited to announce the expansion of Métis Family Connections to Middle Years. Previously, Métis Family Connections was only open to families with children from birth to age 8. Métis Family Connections – Middle Years is for families with registered Métis children aged 9-12 years, and focuses on connecting them to community and culture, and the opportunity to access the Métis Child Care Benefit.

The Métis Child Care Benefit (MCCB) is a resource created to support parents with their licensed or registered child care fees. The MCCB has also extended their age requirements to include families with registered Métis children, aged 9-12 years, to access this support. Our website, https://www.mnbc.ca/work-programs/programs-services/metis-family-connections-middle-years-9-12-years will provide more information on eligibility and how to apply.

By enrolling in Métis Family Connections – Middle Years, families can learn more about Métis identity and the Métis Nation, be informed of virtual and cultural community events, and connect with other Métis families.
