Over the next 4 years MNBC will, as a start, have at least $25 million to spend on Social Infrastructure in Métis Chartered Communities. This amount could increase - we need to know what you, your family, and your community need to thrive.
We need you to help us decide how much we need and how to spend it!
Social Infrastructure is defined as “infrastructure needed for Métis communities in British Columbia to thrive”. It includes, but is not limited to community, educational, and cultural spaces; improved internet connectivity; Chartered Community offices; and more.
By participating in the in-person and/or Zoom workshops and/or on-line survey, you can tell us what you, your family, and your community need to thrive. Anyone taking the online survey can enter to win a $50 Walmart gift card—up to fifteen cards per Region, depending on how many people per Region participate!
MNBC is partnering with our consultants David Nairne and Associates (DNA) to host the Citizen engagement workshops. These in-person and Zoom workshops will be held in January and February. All in-person attendees have a chance to win one of three $50 Walmart gift cards, awarded at the end of each workshop!
The first four engagements will be held on:
- January 4, 6-8 PM PST: Region 6/Terrace, Sportsplex, 3320 Kalum Street, Terrace
- January 4, 6-8 PM PST: Region 2/New Westminster, Inn at the Quay, 900 Quayside Drive, New Westminster
- January 5, 6-8 PM PST: Region 2/Fraser Valley, Coast Langley City, 20393 Fraser Hwy, Langley
- January 9/10, 6-8 PM PST: Two online workshops via Zoom (Region 2 and Region 6 only). Join Zoom Meeting here
