MNBC is proud to announce the Growing Our Children Good Beginnings Professional Development for Child Care Providers Course. Are you currently providing care for children or thinking about becoming a child care provider? If you are interested in providing family child care in your home this course is for you!
The COVID-19 crisis highlighted and exacerbated the existing challenges faced in child care and recruitment to the field. Making quality training accessible to all Métis child care providers in the province of B.C. is extremely valuable and will directly correlate to quality child care.
This course is designed to meet the required hours of professional training as stipulated by Child Care Licensing Regulations. Through interactive sessions, this course covers: child development, guidance, health and safety, nutrition as well as managing a child care business.
This curriculum meets the training requirements to qualify individuals to work in child care settings for children from birth to 12 years of age, such as:
• Family Child Care
• Occasional Licensed Child Care
• School-Age Licensed Group Child Care
The Good Beginnings Course is beneficial to our Métis community as we move forward with the retention and recruitment of Métis early learning and child care professionals and supporting our Métis families with the creation of culturally appropriate child care programming.
