Métis Nation British Columbia Statement on Pending Retirement of Premier John Horgan

The Métis Nation British Columbia (MNBC) Board of Directors would like to thank Premier John Horgan for his years of service to the province. Over the duration of his tenure as Premier, the Province of BC and MNBC have made great strides towards a renewed commitment to Métis people. With the passing of the Declaration of the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (DRIPA) into law, the release of the Draft Action Plan, the signing of a new letter of intent, and most recently the creation of a government-to-government table, we have advanced issues important to Métis Citizens in BC. This includes economic development, culture and language, health outcomes, and skills training, to name only a few.

We wish the Premier well in his retirement. We look forward to meeting and working with the newly elected Premier, once they are elected and sworn in.
