Callout for Métis Healthcare Providers

January 24/2022 - Métis Nation British Columbia (MNBC) is seeking Métis healthcare providers and practitioners in order to better connect citizens with culturally safe services and resources that they are seeking out. The healthcare provider callout initiative was created as a result of a need identified by the Ministry of Health for Métis healthcare services.

The Métis healthcare provider callout will build a list of Métis healthcare providers that will become trusted partners of MNBC, and recommended to citizens upon making an inquiry. Métis providers we are looking for include, but are not limited to:

  • Medical Doctors
  • Podiatrists
  • Dentists
  • Physiotherapists/Occupational Therapists
  • Optometrists
  • Nurse practitioners
  • Registered Nurses
  • Licensed Practical Nurses
  • Health Care Assistants (Home support and activity workers)
  • Dieticians
  • Pharmacists
  • Mental health providers including:
    • Psychologists
    • Psychiatrists
    • Social Workers
    • Clinical Counselors

Healthcare providers are needed across all seven regions and will be asked to specify which region they are located in. Having a trusted list of healthcare service providers with region-specific information will help expedite the process of connecting citizens with the culturally safe healthcare services they need.
