Please join Metis Nation British Columbia (MNBC), BC Emergency Management Climate Resiliency (EMCR) and Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) on October 10th, 2023 at 4:30 PM for a fun and informative online town hall meeting on earthquake preparedness and emergency planning.

 

NRCan will present important knowledge on earthquake risk in YOUR region.

 

EMCR will share information on the newly implemented Canadian Earthquake Early Warning system, plus present PreparedBC materials related to Earthquakes.

 

EMCR would also like to get information from YOU with questions connected to the new Provincial Disaster and Climate Risk and Resilience Assessment. What are your questions and concerns with regard to Earthquakes and preparedness in your Region?

 

This event is part of the Great British Columbia Shake Out, an annual opportunity to practice and learn how to be safer during big earthquakes.

This event is led by Métis Nation BC, with guest speakers from Natural Resources Canada and the BC Ministry of Emergency Management and Climate Readiness.

- Learn about resources and tips to help keep you and your family, friends, and community safe during an earthquake.
- Hear about earthquake preparedness initiatives, such as Canada’s new Earthquake Early Warning system and the Disaster and Climate Risk and Resilience Assessment project
- Connect with other community members on perspectives and experiences as it relates to earthquake risk and resilience.
