Métis Girls Gathering is an In-Person Overnight Camp Gathering for Métis individuals who identify as girls ages 8-15, held in Prince George, at Camp Friendship.
This camp will have teachings and cultural activities facilitated by Elders, knowledge holders, and mental health service providers focused on mental wellness and life promotion to increase wellness strategies for Métis Girls.

Call of Interest: Mental Health Counsellor for Overnight Métis Girls Gatherings
Métis Nation BC is hosting two in-person overnight camp gatherings for Métis individuals who identify as girls aged 8-15 years old. The first gathering will take place at Camp Friendship in Prince George, B.C. from September 6-8, 2024.
Role Requirements:
- Attend the camp and stay in a bunk style cabin with other staff.
- Be on-call day and night to provide one-on-one counselling assistance or crisis intervention.
- Potentially offer a limited number of follow-up counselling sessions after the camp.
Purpose:
- Engage in community and Elder-led teachings around mental wellness.
- Strengthen and support the wellness of Métis girls and those who identify as girls.
