Sîpihkisôwin: Low Carbon Energy Program

Program Overview

Métis Nation British Columbia (MNBC) is developing a Low Carbon Energy Program called Sîpihkisôwin (see-pihk-so-win), the Northern Michif word meaning Resilience. Sîpihkisôwin will support Métis Nation BC Citizens and communities in accessing low carbon energy and energy efficiency upgrades. This program aims to reduce energy costs, lower greenhouse gas emissions, and promote sustainable energy use for MNBC Citizens across British Columbia.

Sîpihkisôwin is currently in its engagement and design phase. We are actively seeking input from Métis Citizens, communities, and other stakeholders to shape the program’s priorities and ensure it meets the needs of our Nation.
