International Overdose Awareness Day

Taansii,

International Overdose Awareness Day (IOAD) is an important event that aims to end overdose and reduce stigma associated with those who have lost their lives due to it. The day, which is observed annually on August 31st, started in 2001 and has since become a global campaign. The goal is to remember those who have died, acknowledge the grief of family and friends, and bring people together to create awareness about overdose prevention and support to families and friends who have lost loved ones.

In honour of those who have lost their lives due to overdose, Métis Nation BC will create a Memorial Tree poster. The poster will be a space for us to remember our loved ones, share stories, and bring people together. This is also an excellent way to provide information to the Métis community about MNBC's commitment to help save lives.

If you would like to commemorate someone, please add a tribute below. Tributes will be posted on the Memorial Tree Poster on Aug 31, outside of the Headquarters of MNBC. Your participation in this event will help create awareness about overdose prevention and support to families and friends who have lost loved ones to overdose. Thank you for taking the time to get involved in this important cause.

Let us come together to remember and honour those who have lost their lives due to overdose and work towards ending overdose for good.
