Position Overview
The Sunshine Coast Regional District is currently inviting applications for the position of Utility Technician I (Full-Time, Regular). We are looking for an experienced person to join our team! Under the general direction of the Water Technician Coordinator or designate, ensures the efficient and continuous supply and treatment of potable water to the Sunshine Coast Regional District and the efficient and effective treatment of the sanitary sewer systems. Work is performed to ensure that service delivery meets the expectations of internal and external customers, in accordance with the appropriate regulatory and license requirements.

Compensation and Hours of Work
This is a bargaining unit position with a wage rate of $36.56 per hour (Grid 1, Band 12), working 37.5 hours per week. Annual vacation starts two weeks (or 4%), increasing to three weeks (or 6%) after a four-month probationary period, in addition to 13 paid statutory holidays (after 30 days of employment). After passing probation, you will then receive a full benefit package that includes extended health and dental coverage, paid sick leave, family responsibility leave, eyewear, eye exams, group life insurance, short-term and long-term disability benefits, accidental death and dismemberment coverage, and participation in the Municipal Pension Plan (MPP). And finally, all SCRD employees have access to the Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP) upon hire, for free, confidential counselling services.
