safeTALK - Suicide Intervention Course
This course will teach you how to help someone struggling with their mental health in a respectful way and how to connect that person to a network of safety that helps them keep safe.
Learn this 4-step TALK model to speak openly with someone about suicide and help reduce suicide stigma in Métis Communities across BC.

ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training)
This is a two-day in-person workshop in suicide prevention and intervention skills training. It helps participants recognize when someone may be thinking about suicide, and how to provide a skilled intervention and develop a safety plan with the person to connect them to further support.
ASIST Suicide Intervention Workshops are FREE to Métis Communities in BC until March 31, 2025.
MNBC will provide breakfast, lunch and dinner and a $100 gift card as an incentive.

2SLGBTQQIA+ ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training)
This ASIST training is geared towards 2SLGBTQQIA+ Métis community members. Learn how to conduct Suicide First Aid or Suicide Safety Plans through the PAL Model (Pathway to Assisting Life) to reduce the risk of suicide loss, reduce suicide stigma, and promote mental wellness within your community. $100 gift card incentives are available for those who complete training.

As space is limited, a call for expression of interest will take place between November 12 - December 10, 2024. A lottery will take place in December to select the participants.
