- Position: Teacher
- Description:
Philosopher John Dewey put it best when he said, "Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself." This is an important point to remember as an educator for it embodies the essence of life long learning.
After six long years of devoted studies, I have finally accomplished my goal of becoming a Teacher. This success was not achieved alone, I could not do it without the support and funding from MNBC Employment and Training (Thompson Okanagan), Thompson Rivers University Aboriginal Services team, and of course my family and fellow students.
A special thanks to Peggy Myhre and Chasity Johnson of the MNBC Employment & Training Program in Kamoops, B.C and Dory LaBoucane, Aboriginal Transition Planner, Services for Aboriginal Students at Thompson Rivers University for their continued support throughout my educational journey.
In the fall of 2011, I was hired by the Revelstoke school district as a Teacher on Call. I am enjoying my new career and gaining experience in my field.
