New Culture and Heritage Advisory Group Now Seeking Applications

The Ministry of Culture, Heritage and Language is now accepting expressions of interest from Métis Knowledge Keepers and artisans to join the Métis Culture and Heritage Advisory Group.

The Métis Culture and Heritage (MCH) Advisory Group considers and provides recommendations to the Ministry of Culture, Heritage and Language (MOCHL) on programs and initiatives relating Métis culture and heritage in BC. The primary purpose of the MCH Advisory Group is to ensure that programs and initiatives developed and implemented by MOCHL are guided by respected Métis knowledge keepers and cultural specialists from the community.

MCH Advisory Group Responsibilities:

  • Provide cultural knowledge and input on MOCHL programs and initiatives based on areas of lived and skilled expertise/specialization.
  • Provide recommendations to MOCHL on programs and initiatives relating to the preservation ad promotion of Métis culture and heritage within BC.
  • Provide recommendations on MOCHL programs and initiatives based on the best interests of the Métis Nation within BC.
  • Provide recommendations into the development of the Culture and Language Institute.
