MNBC Makes Additional $88,000 Investment in owned Businesses

“Métis Nation British Columbia (MNBC) recognizes the COVID-19 pandemic has had a serious impact on our Métis-owned businesses. There is no economic recovery without the recovery of Indigenous-run businesses like the ones owned and operated by our Citizens. That is why, we are proud to announce today that we are making an investment of $88,000 to the Métis Financial Corporation of BC (MFCBC) to support Métis-owned businesses. This investment will help to ensure continued supports are available for those that need them.” – Louis De Jaeger, MNBC Minister of Economic Development.

“We appreciate MNBC’s continued support of our efforts to ensure that no business is left behind. These funds will allow MFCBC to provide $10,000 grants to businesses who we had not previously supported.” – Evan Salter, CEO, Métis Financial Corporation of BC (MFCBC)

The investment builds on over $500,000 in funding MNBC provided to Métis-owned businesses through MCFBC this past spring.
