Skin Cancer Awareness Campaign

Chance to Win Great Swag ITEMS!

This July and August, MNBC’s Ministry of Health wants you to join in on our very exciting Skin Cancer Awareness campaign!

Now that summer is here, you’re probably ready to get outside!  Whether you’re heading to the beach, going camping, or planting your garden, we encourage you to practice sun safety in all your summer activities.

Throughout the next few months we will aim to increase awareness about skin cancer by sharing information on how to do self- checks, types of skin cancer, and tips + tricks on how to stay safe in the sun.

But wait, there’s more, remember to read ALL our posts throughout the campaign for secret messages for a chance to win some cool swag!

We know that fresh air and being physically active outdoors plays a vital role in our mental wellness.  While we encourage you to explore the outdoors we strongly encourage you to adhere to all recommended guidelines put in place by our Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry, to ensure you have a fun, safe and healthy summer.

To kick things off, we want YOU to send in any fun photo of yourself, or family promoting sun safety.  Every photo sent it will get an entry in for a chance to win a cool swag bag provided by the Canadian Cancer Society or a gift card from the MNBC’s Ministry of Health.  Some example photos include: wearing a hat, golfing with an umbrella/ or under a cart, putting on sun screen or hanging out at the beach in the shade.

The deadline to send in photos will be August 20th, 2020 at 4:30PM.  Please send all submissions to Northern Regional Health Coordinator, Katina Pollard at kpollard@mnbc.ca.  Along with your photo please include your full name, address, location of photo and if you wish a little blurb about the photo.

We hope you join in on this important cause of promoting skin cancer awareness.
