Métis Nation Virtual Engagement: UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples

President Morin Dal Col joined Métis Nation’s virtual engagement sessions on proposed federal legislation to implement the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples in Canada. The UN Declaration is an important instrument of international law, and it holds a great deal of promise for the Métis Nation. It presents a strong picture of the human rights of Indigenous Peoples, built on a foundation of meaningful self-determination. It is therefore crucial that the Métis Nation has a strong voice in how the UN Declaration is implemented on the federal level.
