K-12 Restart Plan Released

Back to school plans for K-12 families are now posted for all 60 school districts. Families should visit their school district website to view their local school’s plans.

Parents will find detailed back to school plans on their district website. In addition to health and safety measures, the plans include:

  • how learning groups will be organized;
  • when masks are required;
  • daily schedules for classes, lunch and recess;
  • daily health assessment requirements;
  • pick-up and drop off times;
  • protocols for common areas;
  • hand washing directions; and
  • orientation information.

MNBC was apart of the group that the provincial Ministry of Education consulted with on the roll-out of the K-12 restart plan. The Ministry of Education has indicated that all families will be given flexibility of options. We have heard from MNBC families that there is broad uncertainty about whether they will send their children back to school, in-person. MNBC has consistently advocated for options, including remote learning, that includes equitable access to technology.
