World Cancer Day - A Message from MNBC

Posted by on

World Cancer Day is a truly global event taking place every year on 4 February, uniting the world’s population in the fight against cancer.

It aims to save millions of preventable deaths each year by raising awareness and education about the disease, pressing governments and individuals across the world to take action. So, Metis Nation British Columbia has done just that…

Métis Nation British Columbia (MNBC) has worked with BC Cancer to share the cancer screening guidelines to promote better health outcomes through timely and earlier access to screening. Cancer screening is a way of testing for cancer before you have symptoms, and finding cancer early means we have a much better chance of beating it! As Metis people, it’s important to take care of the health of our bodies, as well as encouraging others in our communities to live well. In BC, there are three screening programs that are available to everyone that test for breast, colorectal and cervical cancer.
