Métis Nation BC Proud to Highlight Employee Achievement

MNBC is very proud to highlight the achievement of our Métis Employment & Training program Coordinator Erinn Willoughby in her nomination for the “KOOTENAY EDUCATION GAME CHANGER - Award.  This award is given to an individual, group, or project in the East Kootenay who have demonstrated a dedication to improving the lives of students OR an individual in the education system who has exemplified excellence in the system. The recipient will have demonstrated creativity and dedication in their approach to supporting students and moving students forward in their community.”

Erinn stated in her acceptance that she feels that she was nominated because “MNBC staff strive to help those in need of employment or training.  We serve roughly 80-100 Métis students across the Kootenay’s each year in the form of wage subsidies or providing training dollars.  Every student that we help, our team is involved from start to finish ensuring that their goals become ours and eventually their goal becomes their success.”

When asked about how she felt about this nomination Erinn said "Honestly, even being nominated is humbling in itself.  For our organization, winning this award is reassurance in the hard work and dedication that we provide each of our students.  Helping Metis citizens achieve their career goals is a huge step forward for what they can accomplish next and we are proud to be a part of it."

We wish Erinn the very best in being selected for this award and congratulate her on the achievement of her nomination.
