National Aboriginal Day Message from MNBC
Posted by MNBC on
On National Aboriginal Day we honour and celebrate the summer solctice and the diversity and unique cultures and traditions of the Métis, First Nations and Inuit peoples and pay respect to the endless contributions we have made as indigenous peoples to this country.
It is a time for gathering and recognition. A time when we join together and teach others about our traditions and share our ancestral stories and historical connection as First peoples of Canada.
This year marks the 150th anniversary of Confederation and it is important that we take time to educate ourselves on the key roles indigenous peoples played in building this country.
We encourage you to bring your family and friends and take part in the many celebrations that are happening all across our province here in BC.
Here are just a number of events you can take part in. http://www.mnbc.ca/news-events/posts/mnbc-celebrates-national-aboriginal-day-at-trout-l
On behalf of the MNBC Board of Directors and Staff we wish you a happy and safe National Aboriginal Day!
