For Immediate Release

Surrey, B.C. (April 24, 2020) - Métis Nation British Columbia and its citizens send thoughts and prayers to those families, friends, and loved ones affected by the tragedy that fell on the small community of Portapique, Nova Scotia, where a mass killing claimed the lives of more than 20 people. This horrific loss of innocent lives included an RCMP officer, a teacher, and two nurses.

May we always remember the names and selfless contributions of these innocent victims, and those of front line workers, who were all taken from this earth before their natural time.

Our condolences go out to the families and loved ones of those lost in this tragedy. Our thoughts and prayers go out to this small community for comfort and healing in the days and years to follow.
