MNBC President Announces New Minister Responsible for Métis Elders

July 10, 2018 (Surrey, BC) - Métis Nation British Columbia President, Clara Morin Dal Col, has announced a new appointment to the MNBC cabinet. 

Marilynn Taylor, Region 4 Kootenay Region Director and Minister for MNBC Citizenship Registry has been appointed Minister for Elders for the Métis Nation British Columbia.   MNBC Board of Directors were in full support of the appointment put forth by President Morin Dal Col. 

In addition to her Ministry for MNBC Citizenship and Registry, Minister Taylor will take on her role and responsibilities to her new appointment for Minister for Elders, effective immediately.

President Morin Dal Col commented “we are very pleased to appoint Marilynn Taylor as our Minister for Elders. She has nearly six years of experience on the Board, she is very knowledgeable and committed to the betterment of the Nation and our culture, and she understands how important it is to address the needs of our Elders.” the President added, “The Board was delighted that she accepted this appointment.”

Minister Taylor noted "I am very honoured to have been entrusted with this very important portfolio.  As Minister for Elders, with honour and respect, I will use the traditional teachings and ways of my Elders to guide me to be the most effective advocate for the care and wellness of the Elders of our Nation."
