Metis Nation and Canada sign $500 Million 10 – Year Housing Agreement

MNBC President and Minister of Métis Housing in BC Clara Morin Dal Col, along with the other Leaders from the Métis Nation signed a historic $500 million funding agreement for Métis housing on July 19, 2018.
The signing in Saskatoon with Federal Minister of Crown-Indigenous Relations Carolyn Bennett was witnessed by MNBC’s Vice President Lissa Smith, Provincial Youth Chairperson Cassidy Caron, and Board Directors Daniel Pitman, Marilynn Taylor and Raynie Gervais. The agreement will see Métis governments in each of the provinces oversee the design, delivery and administration of housing services for Métis people.
The nation-to-nation agreement will see the funds ($50 million each year for the Métis Nation as a whole) allocated to Métis governments in each of the next 10 years for housing projects and programs.
