From across the homelands, Métis Nation Leaders, Citizens and friends of the Métis, gathered for the celebration of Back to Batoche for 2019.  Held on the historic site of “The Battle of Batoche”, this event brought together a significant attendance from all corners of the country.  Federal and provincial governments including Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale, Minister of Crown and Indigenous Relations Carolyn Bennett and Minister of Indigenous Service Seamus O’Regan were in attendance for a number of historical Métis self-government agreements, MOU’s and other significant signings and ceremonies and to celebrate the rich, vibrant and unique culture and traditions of the Métis.  (see Statement from Minister Bennett for signing highlights)

MNBC President Clara Morin Dal Col, Youth Minister Cassidy Caron and Regional Director Raynie Gervais were among the leaders in attendance from BC.

Over the course of the four day weekend, many events, games, contests and festivities were celebrated and traditions and culture honoured.
